The good folks at Lowa sent over the Lowa Tibet GTX for a gear review and I'm amped to give this stout boot a try for bowhunting. Everyone is looking for the best bowhunting boots and this is one worth checking out as you're in the market for maybe upgrading and leveling up your boot game.
I really enjoyed the stability on the hike I took them on. It was late winter and there was a lot of snow on the ground which was also nice for trying them in wet weather.
Watch my first impressions on my first hike of the Lowa Tibet GTX boot here:
Overall here are my thoughts on the boot for bowhunting.
The Lowa GTX Tibet boot is a high-end, all-terrain hiking and backpacking boot that is designed to offer excellent support and durability in a range of conditions. For bowhunting, these are going to be on the heavier end but super stable to if you need these in super rocky terrain, these are a great choice.
Here are some of the key features and benefits of this boot, keep in mind these for bowhunting and your conditions:
-
Waterproofing: The boot features a Gore-Tex lining that provides waterproof and breathable protection. This means that your feet will stay dry in wet conditions, but also won't get sweaty and uncomfortable during more strenuous activities. I noticed this with my merino socks which I suggest wearing anyway.
-
Support: The boot has a high-cut design that provides excellent ankle support, as well as a stiff sole that offers stability and protection on uneven terrain. The stiffness is legit, probably one of the stiffest boots I've been in.
-
Comfort: Despite the rugged construction, many reviewers report that the Lowa GTX Tibet boot is surprisingly comfortable, with a well-padded tongue and collar, and a cushioned footbed. It does have a wider toe box than I am use to but I also thought I could size down a half size, I'm a 10.5 and felt that maybe a 10 would've worked as well.
-
Durability: The boot is made with high-quality materials, including a full-grain leather upper and a Vibram outsole, that are designed to last through many miles of use.

Overall, the Lowa GTX Tibet boot seems to be a top-performing hiking and backpacking boot that provides excellent support, comfort, and durability. However, some reviewers note that the boot can feel a bit heavy and stiff, which may not be ideal for more casual hikers or those with sensitive feet.
